Spring!

Spring!

Finally done with the snow! Just a few rain storms here and there now. So glad to finally get to some temperatures where I can feel warm when I step outside! Of course that means everyone’s allergies are going nuts and the blistering heat is just around the corner, but I’ll take it over the constant cold!

Took a day off for my birthday and booked a spa day at The Spa Lounge. I went with their relaxation package – I’ve had a lot of massage therapy in my life and it is NOT fun. Or relaxing. You’re left feeling bruised for a couple of days after one of those sessions. The place was awesome and I definitely recommend it!

Heading home from there I happened to spot the same guy that I’d bought my rabbit garden statues from in a parking lot off 123rd South by the freeway entrance. I had decided I wanted a turtle for my yard and took this as a sign. 😄

Here are the rabbits I purchased earlier:

I figure I’ll move them all around from time to time. The turtle makes me smile and I can see him pretty clearly on my security cameras. These things are made of aluminum, not bronze or concrete and should last 30+ years. Besides being much lighter, they’re also WAY cheaper than bronze or concrete. I’d say the turtle cost the same as 2 of my quilting projects, but in bronze he’d have been over a grand!

Speaking of quilting, here’s the quilt I finished a couple of weeks ago, such gorgeous fabrics!

That was a fun, simple kit to do. I may get the courage to tackle one of the more complicated kits one of these days. 😅

I have Arts & Crafts night once a week with my friend Katie and we’ve decided to tackle a 5,000 piece, 62 inch wide by 42 inch tall puzzle!

It’s a James Christensen picture:

I’ve never done one this size before! Curious to see how long it takes. I’m pretty sure I’ll try to frame this thing when it’s done!

Another place I’d recommend if you like candles: The Wick Lab. You can pick up to 3 different scents to mix together in your own candle. It’s a fun activity even if it’s hard to narrow it down to just 3.

The pups are as fat and sassy as ever. I open the window up in the guest bedroom so they can get all the fun smells as they watch everyone and everything:

Those wood slats are perfectly sized for them!

Here’s some sassiness going on for you:

So that’s a meditation pad and seat cushion she’s attacking with glee. I’ve got a little “fence” up in the doorway to keep the pups out of here. I just missed Jax in here with her, both of them pouncing on it with glee. 😆

That’s about it for me! The family is coming over Sunday for Mother’s day. We’re doing a pizza party and movie. We’re going to watch the new Dungeons and Dragons movie. That might seem an odd choice, but it is a fun, silly movie. I think my mom and sister will get a couple of good chuckles out of it. You’ve got to see it for the pudgy dragon and the owlbear, if nothing else. 😁

Take care everyone!

  1. Looks like more fun and games… I wonder how long it will take for the 5000 piece puzzle?
And the wonderful work you did on the blanket is awesome.
Glad to be rid of the cold and looking forward to summer fun!
    Love you.

  2. Love the turtle and rabbit statues – I keep thinking I need a velociraptor :-). Glad to hear the Dungon and Dragons was fun – I’ll have to watch it.
